Just a quick update. Phoned DWP this morning, they still haven't received the file back :(

It can take a while, for no obvious reason, it's just how they are

The best thing to do is keep pestering them every few days and then someone might get round to chasing it up for you.

Thanks Formaldehyde. Phoned today and they say that my claim is still ongoing and if I'm still worried to phone next week.

It just thats its making me ill. I've been feeling rubbishy since this all started and thats on top of my usual rubbishy. I just want to crawl into a corner and cry :(

On a good day I can get showered, unfortunately they are few and far between at the moment so you better stand downwind of me. :p

    Hi Saschasmum,

I am sorry you are feeling so stressed about this.

I still think you wont need to have a medical examination and that your claim for benefit will continue uninterrupted.

Also I think its very possible you wont hear anything back from DWP or ATOS. I know they are both very busy and neither of them is any good at putting peoples minds at rest.

In the past I wrote twice to DWP about my circumstances and never even received an acknowlegement.

    Best wishes,
    muirbabe

Its just the not knowing. At least before I knew it was awarded for 2 years so I could concentrate on my health, but now...........................

hi, i am suffering from the same as you and have had my last 3 appointments cancelled by atos, i received a letter today giving me a provisional appointment for the end of this month it also states that their doctor will review my case before the new date and will contact me with this decision, it seems they can make a decision without the medical, this don't make sense at all, i am like you stressed and confused by all this

When they cancelled did they tell you that you didn't need a medical or just that they needed to change the date? I think from what I've read on here is that they can't change anything without a medical but they can decide to leave you on the same benefit at the same rate.

The DWP told me to try again next week :(

they changed the date but also said their doctor will review my case before the new date and let me know the decision, thats what i don't understand, its made me think they can take you off before the medical then maybe they cancel the medical if you get taken off. hope i haven't confused you more

I'm sure they can't just take you off it. I think the doctor reviews the case and they decide if you need the medical or if your claim will continue as it is. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be around to shed more light.

I really hope I'm right. I hate it all
