Catalogue refusing to accept token payments

With all my creditors I discuss payments and agreements over the phone. Writing has been no benefit whatsoever. It takes you to have a clear head and something to aim at when contacting by phone. Written letters never got me a serious reply, at the same time, wasting time when really they want you to take the first step and actually speak to them in real time. I had been reading these forums back then and all the advice was to keep all communication on writing, that failed for me. Keeping in contact by phone and being quick to let them know what is going has made it much easier.0

i have reduced payments with Very ( part of the littlewoods / homeshopping group) and even through the CAB they wouldn't accept any less than £5
are you doing the token payments with anyone ..CCCs / CAB i find they seem to take more notice if you have someone with official notepaper
but i would just keep sending them £1 if thats all you can affoard but at first they kept adding £12 charges on to mine for not paying minimum payments .. if you do phone ask to speak to supervisor if you get nowhere with person on phoneline0 -
agree with this as well with littlewoods they didnt acknowlege several letters for about 4 months from the CABIn my experience, it takes alot longer for customers to get things sorted out via letter. If we agree anything over the phone, corrospondance gets sent out regarding the agreement. Also, like I say, it might be that extra information is needed for them to agree anything, and I just think it would be quicker to phone, find out what is needed, and get it sorted as soon as possible.0 -

There is a letter on here somewhere, sorry, don't have the link, that will stop Very from calling you. I did the same, and the calls stopped straight away...:)
On a side note, you may not want to hear it, but Very are the most unhelpful bunch of peeps I've come across. All my creditors have accepted my payments, except these. They say they want to help, but when you phone them and explain the situation, they don't want to know.0 -
If they're charging you the £12/month late payment fee, I'd write to them now, telling them that until you receive some reassurance that your attempts to pay them will actually go towards reducing your debt - i.e. by waiving the late fee/stopping interest - then you will regrettably not be making any further payments, as your limited funds can be better allocated to reducing another debt. You do, however, look forward to attending court, where you will request that the court order any late payment fees to be removed from the amount owing, and that your payments remain the same as you are currently paying.0
