please help with journey planning - getting confused now!
I've read all the advice and tried doing this myself but I've got that many bits of paper in front of me cant remember whats what!!!
Have looked on the board and seen how quick and good the answers are so thought I'd try this
Journey -
Monday 1st August 2011 Exeter to Leeds 1adult and 1 14yr old
arr before 5pm if possible
Tuesday 2nd August 2011 Leeds to exeter 1 adult after 12 if poss.
I've looked at flying, coach, megabus and train which is looking the most preferable at the minute.
All this is to interrupt family holiday to get daughter back home to go on her army cadet camp -
thank you all in advance

Raileasy.co.uk gives cheapest return as £123 - you could fly from Bristol to Leeds for £125 which obviously isn't ideal as you'd need to get to Bristol but that might be a quicker option if a little more expensive when you factor in the cost of getting to Bristol.
Cheapest flight from Exeter (FlyBe) was £150 odd, so probably swings and roundabouts.
You can fly from Bristol > Dublin > leeds for £99 return but a bit of a pain that one
https://www.skyscanner.net is good for checking flights.:A0 -
Firstly, get a free Family and Friends railcard.
Dep Exeter St.Davids 12:23, arr Leeds 17:04. Advance Single = £40.40.
or if you can arrive an hour later, save nearly £10...
dep Exeter St.Davids 13:25, arr Leeds 18:03. Advance Single = £31.05.
Those prices are for two with railcard.
Then return without railcard...
Dep Leeds 11:11, arr Exeter StD 15:46. Advance Single = £29.50.
or dep Leeds 16:11, arr Exeter StD 20:44. Advance Single = £36.50.
any other times will cost a lot more.
These are direct trains, no changes required.
Remember, with Advance Singles you must travel on booked trains.

DON'T use these 3rd party ticket suppliers - some of them charge postage or fees for you to collect them from the station, and credit card loadings. They are NEVER cheaper than the train operating companies !
Also, these sites do not show the special offers which the train operating companies have on their sites.
