Hi I want to edit some clips that I've taken of my baby (Take out all the yawn inducing bits).
I've tried moviemaker but it comes up with an error message, even though they play fine on quick time. They are MPEG-4 Movie (.MP4) clips.
I'm using Windows Vista.
I looked on the help pages and I got totally confused with all the talk of codacs!
Is there some simply (free?) software that I can use? Or is there a straight forward solution?
Thanks

Is the error file format not recognised or supported, if so, you can use AVC Free to convert the files to mpeg 2 if you intend to put the files on to a DVD Disc

Another option for putting them on to a disc is WinX DVD Author Free which should convert and burn those

You may find avidemux suitable for editing the clips

Hope it goes well
With avidemux, you can load a clip then click file, then click save to get the option of saving the output as a set of bitmap or jpeg images, useful if you want to get the exact image for a photo, though it does produce a lot of them if the clip is large0
