Hi,
I have just recently been awarded dla for my child. i rung tax credits to inform them.. they said it would be updated and i wouls be sent a letter confirming this. I have heard nothing.. How long did it take for you to hear from them when you added the disability premium on?
They gave me an 0191 number i have tried calling but its either engaged or ringing out?
Thanks.

I think it was around 3 or 4 weeks later that I heard back from tco after I informed them that my Daughter was in receipt of DLA.
They said they had to await confirmation from another dept before they could actually update my award (probably double checking that she WAS actually awarded DLA)
When I did receive my new award notice though I saw that they had not back dated my entitlement to the disability element and I rung them up and they told me the furthest they could back date was 93 . I wasnt too happy with this as my Daughter had been awaiting a decision on her DLA claim for 9 months and so as this was no fault of ours I felt that we were entitled to the disability premium back dated to the same date as the DLA award.
I was constantly told that this wasnt possible and yet on appeal I won and the money was back dated the whole 9 months!
I got quite a payment.
Just check that they dont tell you the same thing and if they do I would advise you to appeal it.The loopy one has gone :j0 -
