I think i'm doing my own make up. As we are getting married in Greece, I'm not keen on the idea of having someone do it for me & i,m worried if I did they would pile it on. I was thinking that i'd just buy some new good products, instead of the cheap stuff I usually have & would hopefully be able to make myself look good on the day. My makeup usually looks good(I think). The lady who owns the nail place where I go is doing my nails & waxing etc before we fly out & she said if I bring my makeup in she would go through with me how to do it more professionally for free:D She does makeup for brides anyway & i'd have her if we were marrying here.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.0

Sorry, I'm genuinely not trying to draw attention to myself, but more making the point that everything in my area (Hertfordshire, just outside London), seems to be far more expensive than the national average.Legal team on standby0

I'm paying £400 for my hair and make up. But it includes a father (hair) and daughter (make up) team who'll be at my house in the sticks for 10 hours between them. They're doing me, 2 x BM and MiL. More importantly, they make me look good! I had a trial for £10 combined hair and make up and that took at least 2 hrs. And I have WILD hair that needs a good hairdresser to control it!
Malkie - I'm in Bedfordshire, not that far from you. We have caterers in - £34 a head for 3 course meal, main and pud are buffet and I'll be honest, we haven't skimped. Its a "posh" buffet if you know what I mean.
I had 1 caterer quote from Herts area that was similar to yours - if its not too late I'd def shop around.
Thats assuming you've got outside caterers tho! If its a posh hotel its a bit diff!0 -
I'm doing my own make up.
On a day to day basis, I don't wear any make up at all.
I am very confident in applying my own make up and wouldn't really like someone else doing it.
I'm not even gonna use foundation. I don't wear it normally when I go out, and I did buy 3 different ones to try out, but they're just not me. I have loads of powders and mousses and liquids and creams, but I don't like them. When I go out, I use an under the shadows cream for my dark circles, and a blusher. I then use a little eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss.
I don't want to look any different on my wedding day to be honest. And I also don't want to have to worry about carrying make up round, and checking it in the toilet all day long.
The only thing I am considering thats totally different from normal is getting eyelash extenstions as my SIL wears them for special occassions and they look fabulous. I am worried that I will cry and my mascara will run, but you don't need mascara on if you have these extension things tho. Gonna do some more research into them.Married my lobster in July 2011

I'm definitely treating myself to false eyelashes! I didn't used to like the idea of them cos I always thought they were a bit 'Jordan', but I wore some when I was a bridesmaid and they looked amazing!
