online car broker - real or scam? help!

Options
i have been trying to negotiate the purchase of a vehicle from a seller advertised on gumtree, because of him being posted to work in ireland he is insisting on using an online car broker to do the deal. i had no issues with this until i checked the seemingly reputable co. on companies house website where they are registered as status pending to be struck off? also their comunications have numerous spelling mistakes and i am unsure when i telephoned their number (out of office hours) that it was even the companies office as no normal company name greeting was used in the answerphone message - total-brokers.com as suggested by gumtree has anyone had any dealings with them how can i guarantee they genuine befoire i agree to lodge any money for purchase of this car with them?

I was a subject of a £5500 scam paid to British Brokers through an advert on Gumtree. They were of little help and really were not bothered.
Action Fraud were also of little use they did check bank account but money went immediately, they then basically said that was it ,
Question Banks are suppose to vet clients especially with business accounts.
So much for Barclays in Park Royal.
