Purple Sprouting Broccoli - it's too early, isn't it?

Traditional Early Purple Sprouting broccoli is sown in May/June, then planted out about June/July, and it will crop in Feb/March/April (if it's not too warm) the following year.
However - there has been a bit of breeding work done, and there are varieties that will grow and crop during the summer/autumn the same year - it sounds that you may have one of these varieties.
This is one bit of breeding that I think unnecessary - there are perfectly good calabrese to crop in the summer, and countless other crops. Very few plants that will crop in the early spring! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
