Went to Mango womans clothes shop in Leicester to buy my wife a cardigan. It cost £44.90 but when I got it home and peeled the price tag off I saw that it was also priced at 39 euros. Now this translates to about £31 so Mango are also ripping off UK shoppers for about 50% more than european shoppers.

Clothes are worth what someone is prepared to pay. You were prepared to pay £44.90 and were happy with that to begin with. Unless you're prepared to travel abroad, the overseas price is pretty irrelevant.0

Trouble is you're basing the rip off on something called the exchange rate and try as I might I can't see how Mango can be blamed for that.
As has previously been said you thought the item was worth £44.90 so that's all that matters.2014 Target;

As for people saying you pay a price because you think it's worth that price then I would suggest that is why we in Britain seem to pay more than most other countries for our goods. One doesn't have to think something is worth a price in order to buy it. The price is what you have to pay if you want the item.
The problem with this country is that we accept manufacturers ethos that we British will always pay what the manufacturers think they can get away with. Take the example of cars: In a country with low taxes a car maker will sell a car to the dealer for say £10,000 but if it is a country of high taxes then the car maker will sell to that country at say £5000 so that the price on the road is similar in both countries. That is why it was nearly always cheaper to buy a new car in Europe than in Britain.
Does that mean the car was worth £10,000?0 -
Same applies to Zara. I buy all my clothes in Spain when I visit my Family out there, love it! Fly out with an empty case return with my new wardrobe. I wouldn;t dream of shopping in Zara in the UK. I have bought things in Zara Spain for 15 euros then seen them in Zara UK for £29!!! Welcome to rip off Britain!0
