What is the make/model?
Generally the trackpad is disables/enabled with an Fn + button combination.
On my one (toshiba) it is Fn + F9-Scott-

It is an Acer Aspire - I have tried the Fn and F7 button but it still doesn't work. I am having to press the smaller button for the computer to accept any commands.0
