Switching without getting early cancellation charge

My current fixed tarrif ends on 1st July and i want to switch using Simply Switch website but i'm concerned if i apply now, i'll get charged for ending my contract early ??

does anyone know if that website waits until your current contract ends before switching?

    I'm not aware of any switching website that will wait after receiving the instruction to switch. You'll need to wait until you're out of a tie-in period (watch for automatic roll-over into a new one and take steps to avoid if that's likely to happen) before starting the process (or at least do it in the last week or so).

    Energyhelpline does, just make sure you select it on the signup page.

    If you switch your gas and electricity seperately with energy helpline, do you get £40 cashback or just £20?

    £30 as its £15 per switch.

    oh yeah , sorry, i meant £15 or £30. wasn't sure if switching gas and elec seperately counted as one switch.

    I've just checked the t's and c's and if you're switching gas and electricity separately, you only get £30 cashback if your're switching to seperate providers. If you switch both to the same supplier, you only get £15.
