Eon launches two year fixed price deal for 9 per cent premium

Eon has launched an energy tariff that fixes prices for two years for a nine per cent premium on current prices.

The tariff also works with the Tesco Clubcard scheme. Eon has said it plans to extend the Clubcard pilot beyond the 5 August. Tying it in with the fixed price tariff suggests it will run for at least another two years.
Prices in the Fixed Price 5 will be fixed for two winters meaning that even if prices continue to rise for the next two years you’ll know how much you are paying for your energy because prices will be fixed until 1 July 2013.

Just a heads up and please remove if its been posted already.

Gas Tier 2 rate, include VAT and online discount, not including DD & DF:

    Fixed Online 8: 2.6088p

    SaveOnline 7: 2.8917p

    Fixed Price 5: 3.44295p

    (3.44295 - 2.8917) / 2.8917 = 19% premium on SaveOnline 7

    (3.44295 - 2.6088) / 2.6088 = 32% premium on FixOnline 8

I'm working on a time machine to go back to the 20th century,
    the 21st century sucks.

And this is now more expensive than their 1 Apr 2013 fix (which of course has now disappeared!), which I switched to last week from FOL8. Glad I did!! Phew.......just in time.

I also switched to the 1 APR 2013 Price Protection last week and have received the confirmation letter. A 7% premium over the standard rate is certainly better than 9%!
