Do all Digital Cameras eat batteries like they are going out of fashion, or in anyones experience are some better than others?
I bought a Samsung Digimax S600 last week end and it has developed a fault already, so I am trying to decide whether to get an exchange or refund that I have been offered.
I like the camera in general but the battery consumption seems to be so quick.
I'm looking to spend up to £130.00, and want min 6MP. I have been looking on internet reviews etc and scouring the internet for cameras, but there is so many out there that all look to do pretty much the same thing. Nothing really says anything about battery usage though.
Any thoughts/recommendations?

Don't know if this will help you, it depends if you are using batteries as apposed to a battery that you charge.
If you are using batteries ie AA batteries then you must use rechargeable batteries. Normal ones will probably be "eaten" after about 15 mins.
Have a look on https://www.dpreview.com (hope that is ok to put that address). this site helped me which camera to choose. They do comparisons and they also test battery life etc,
Hope this helps.0 -
The short answer to that is, yes all of the ones I have used eat batteries.
My only tip on the subject is try and buy a camera that runs off AA size pen cells, at least you can buy a charger and some rechargeable batteries which should pay for themselves within the first few months.I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0
