National Accident Helpline

I don;t know if anyone else has had any similar experiences to me?
I keep getting phone calls (maybbe up to 10 calls) over the last 2 months or so from someone purporting to represent National Accident Helpline.
These calls are extremely annoying. I am not an ambulance chaser and do not wish to claim compensation against banks or whoever else they wish me to attack.
Furthermore, I am on the list whereby I should not receive marketing or sales calls so the law is being broken here.
Thing is, the person that calls me each time seems to sound the same each time. he has a strong Asian accent and is pretty difficult to understand.
Today I tried to get his company's phone number from him - I am fed up of getting these calls and the phone number keeps coming up witheld every time I dial 1471 (or is it 1571!) He didn't really give me his proper number and by the end of the call he said to me "f**ck off, you f**cker" and then immediately hung up.
I found the contact details for National Accident Helpline off Google. Called them up - they said that they do not make outgoing ssales calls anyway. They said that this man does not work for them.
I then called the police and told them I would like to tell them about this. They gave me a crime reference number and said that they would investigate this for malicious calls.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar. What course of action would you recommend to stop getting these calls and is there anything I can do to see National Accident Helpine / this individual get their comeuppance. I hate ambulance chasing firms with a vengeance anyway!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I seriously doubt the individual who is calling you does work for or represent National Accident Helpline. Why would a personal injury firm be interested in suing banks?
Most likely, this is some form of attempted scam. Could you perhaps add Anonymous Call Reject to your home phone line? It is usually £4 per month and will block incoming calls where the number has been rejected, but not international calls where the number sometimes cannot be ascertained by the phone company. If you still receive calls you will know they are coming from abroad.
Perhaps just adding it for a month or two would be enough to ensure whoever this person is will get the message.0 -
NAH - do you have MSE's permission to post?
Anyone else - if you have an accident and need to make a claim, you don't need a middleman, who'll take a healthy commision for referring you. You can find yourself a solicitor on your local high street.0 -
if you are getting hese type of calls and are with BT then contact

Hi,
We have received this response from National Accident Helpline. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company may say on the forum.National Accident Helpline absolutely understand your annoyance and frustration. Please be assured that these calls have nothing to do with our business. We take malicious calls such as this very seriously and report offenders to the relevant authorities as a matter of urgency, such as Trading Standards and the Ministry of Justice.
We invite you and anyone else who suffers a similar experience to send us details including the phone number used (if not withheld), date, frequency of calls, examples of the aggressive language used, and any other details you think relevant. Please send details to feedback@nahl.co.uk.
Thank you,

Could you post a list of the private numbers of the directors of NAH, as I would like to bother them as much as you are bothering me. :T
everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.

mattcanary _ i have just hung up after receiving abuse from an Asian sounding male voice claiming to be from N.A.H.L. I have received calls from a similar voice for years now often weekly and I lost it today and calmly told him to !!!! off. I have stressed on numerous occasions that the company remove me from the database and to stop calling me. I received '!!!!!!! !!!! off' & 'you bloody !!!!!!!' repeatedly before he hung up. This must be the same person. I am fed up, it's an intrusion and it's also harassment. You are not alone. Mack - London0
