on prepayment meters with eon, decided to switch supplier for a cheaper rate recieved a letter from edf saying current supplier wont let us switch as have debt on meters.next thing i get letter from bank saying overdrawn as edf tried to take 84.00 x2 attempts from account? how can this be as prepayment meters ? now apparantly switched to edf ? how ? prepayment you wouldent pay upfront have emailed them to no avail as dont have a telephone

    Many people are put on pre-pay meters because they have a debt. The debt is then recovered by putting in, say, £5 a month into the meter.

    Did you give EDF your bank details? Otherwise how did they get them? It's all a bit odd. You'll need to raise it with them. They are not good at answering email quickly, and when they do they seem to give standard irrelevant answers so you will need to call them using a phone box.

    yes i gave bank details had 200 bank charges through this! recieved cheque off them for 79.00? refund

    You shouldn't have given bank details to the company if you have prepayment meters. It sounds as if they thought you were on a normal meter paying by direct debit. As you've had a refund I presume you've sorted it out with them now.
