Experian/Creditexpert Scam

I ordered my 'free' report from Experian today.
However, they immediately charged me 3 x £14.95 plus £0.86 without my permission!
I have not authorized any payment to Experian.
I have emailed them and told them to refund my money.
My bank have advised me that if they do not then they will invoke their dispute procedures and security protocol.
I am amazed at the irony that Experian are behaving in this way.0 -

From experience of cancelling on the phone at the end of the free trial, the nice Experian representative will try to say anything in order to make you not cancel.
In my case I had to spend 10+ minutes repeating that I wanted to cancel while he went through my whole file telling BS to convince me otherwise, even saying that as I was not yet on the electoral roll I could be fined £1000.
People be warned about that.0 -
No real issue cancelling with Experian, they do offer you a couple of cheaper services £14.99 is where they start out with the full service which includes a random number generator. Then they offer a £5.99 service where you get unlimited credit reports without the random number generator, then they offer a monitor service of £1.99 a month where they keep a eye on your credit report and inform you of any changes, then they completely cancel your service.
Equifax will offer 12 months of their "lite" service for free after cancelling. I took them up on this offer and have diarised 12 months in my outlook calender to call them up to cancel at that point in time.
Call Credit Check / Noddle has always been free for me :-) So this is the one I use to keep a eye on what is going on with my credit report. Should really mirror what's currently happening on Equifax and Experian so no need for their pay per use service really. :-)0 -

0844 numbers are considerably more when you use a mobile though James. Why can you not provide a freephone number or a standard 01, 02 or 03 number to call from your mobile phone?
After all your customers are helping Experian maintain accurate and up to date information by identifying inaccurate data. Where you and a third party are in breach of the Data Protection Act due to inaccurate, or out of date, data being reported by a third party on your databases.0 -
£14.99p/m is ridiculous - I noticed that the Experian website does not advertise this price freely visible on their site. With Equifax you are given a 'choice' of reasonable packages to choose from, whereas with Experian you are forced to take out their £14.99 p/m which includes insurance which I do not want. This part i find is the scam. Experian used to charge £6.99 now its £14.99 = rip off and refuse to carry on with my membership and only monitor my Equifax and Call credit reports (Noodle). Which I tend to find whats on my Experian report is on Equifax and CC, so I do not need to have to pay such a ridiculous membership fee. Take note James Jones!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Iereboy, I think you have misread my post or perhaps I have not made myself clear, I phoned up to cancel my account before the free trial,.
So you contact your card provider. Tell them the date you cancelled with them. So long as its before the date of the debit it will be refunded.
The fact they could not close it is not your fault.
Result you get your money back and they get a black mark for failing in their duty not to take a payment after cancellation.
Its not a scam.... Its there clear in black and white what they are going to charge if you dont cancel....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
