Do you mean a direct debit from your bank to pay off your credit card each month?
or a payment that goes from your credit card to another creditor regularly?

Yes to the first, no to the second. The only thing that is similar is a continous payment authority.

You can set up continuous payment authority but these are best avoided (like the plague IMO).

Direct debits can be cancelled by yourslef so you retain control.
CCA's cannot be cancelled by you or the card company (even if the card expires or is closed). Only the retailer can cancel them. Somtime they are reluctant especially if you are in dispute, so they are really best avoided.
