How do I get a ringtone from my laptop to my phone

Not sure if this is the correct place or whether it should be on mobile phones thread but hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I have just bought an Orange San Francisco phone (never used a smart phone before) so a huge learning curve.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get a ringtone which I have saved on my laptop onto my new phone. It is saved as an mp3 file.

If you have a cable, you should be able to connect phone to laptop and transfer it. If not, and the laptop has bluetooth, you might be able to transfer it that way.
Daft question, but have you checked your phone will play MP3s as ringtones?

I haven't checked if my phone will play MP3 - how would I know? Phone is an Orange San Francisco.

I do have a cable, but not very techie minded at all, so now my daft question - do I connect one end of cable to laptop and other to phone, then how do I actually transfer?
How would I find out if laptop has bluetooth? Laptop is Toshiba Satellite if that helps?

Yes it will, just play the track, press menu, then use as ringtone

Get the corect drivers from here

When you connect your phone choose "Mount" you can then just drag & drop the file to the decive that has just opened (Micro SD 1)
