How to save a game to hard drive?

I've been given a copy of a certain well known game, it has a read me file with it saying save the game to hard drive and do not install play it from there. As I have never done this before can anyone help me out with some instructions.

If its on CD or DVD select all the files on the CD or DVD and drag them into a new folder on your hard drive, then look for the EXE file (usually named after the game) within the folder and click on it. It should run without need to install it. I'm assuming it’s a backup of the original game. :eek:As tight as two coats of paint0
