Using a KVM with PS2 mouse but USB laptop

Hi everyone, hope someone can help.

I now use three PCs - No. 1 is an old very slow desktop that I want to discontinue using, but find useful currently as I haven't migrated everything over to the No. 2. No. 2 is a new very fast laptop which will become my main personal PC, and the third is my work laptop. I use No1 and No3 most at the moment but want to increase use of No2.

To help me constantly moving about/changing screens/keyboards etc I have bought a four port KVM and No. 1 is happily connected. I then spotted that No 2 and No 3 (both laptops) do not have the PS2 female connectors on their flanks, only USB ports (if you want to use an extra mouse say). The cable ends on the KVM are male PS2 for both the keyboard and the mouse.

I have had a bit of research on "female PS2 to male USB" adapters and although they seem cheap, most people are saying they don't actually work.

Has anyone any ideas ? Has anyone done this ? thanks, Sal x
