Blue Screen message help

HiI've switched on my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000) to find a blue screen message. Wondering if anyone can help me with it please? Started and stopped the laptop as the message says but message still there. Not really got a clue what to do now!Message readsA problem has been detected etc etc etcTechnical informationSTOP 0x00000024 (0x00190203 0x82f74ef0 0xc000102 0x00000000)Laptop came installed with Windows XP so don't have discs to reinstall. No recovery disc eitherGrateful for any help thanks

It sounds like a fillesystem corruption. These are sometimes (but not always) recoverable.
I would run chkdsk /r on the disk - you may be able to do this from 'safe mode with command prompt' (F8 on boot), but otherwise you would need a bootable utility or OS CD.0
