Door Knobs!

We are in the process of replacing all the internal doors upstairs in the house, and also need the door latches. The house was built just after the Second World War, and looking at the state of the doors, they are probably the original Council doors.
Can anyone suggest where I can get good, value for money latches and door knobs from? The doors will be four panelled knotty pine, so I thought knobs would look better. Also, as there are five doors upstairs (7 including cupboards) I would like to buy them all together, to ensure that they all match.
Can anyone suggest anything?

The tubular door latches come in 2 sizes, 2.5 inch or 3 inch (64mm and 76mm). You can buy a packet of 4 from Wickes for about £7. Remove the handles and measure from the edge of the door to where the door handle goes through the latch to find which size you need, check all the doors because you may have some of either size."Nil Sine Labore" - Nothing Without Labour0

Thanks Martyn, quick question though, are the spindles that go through the latches all the same size? Sorry if this is a daft question!Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

You posted the overal length of latches which is fine but the important measurement(edge of door to centre of spindle) "backset" is 44mm and 56mm.
If the OP opts for lever handles then 56mm or 44mm backset is ok ,if they opt for knobs then 56mm backset is the one to choose,if they put knobs on a 44mm backset latch they will smack their knuckles each time they try and open the doors....0 -
I think the spindles are 7 or 8mm but not sure."Nil Sine Labore" - Nothing Without Labour0
