Anyone been reading the T+C?
Do you think you could open up one natwest and one RBS account? Or are they all on the same systems like halifax and BOS?
Paying for bills aka C.C's from the account I guess wont count as a purchase?

However, if I wasn't excluded due to already holding a NatWest current account, I might be tempted to apply and try the Egg Savings account debit card deposit method that many of us successfully exploited when LTSB were doing the matching offer at their save the change launch a few years ago.
If LTSB's systems couldn't tell the difference between a card purchase and a savings account deposit, then hopefully NatWest/RBS systems won't be able to?0 -
I went to Natwest today to open a new account and asked whether the link between RBS / Natwest would impact my account favourably or otherwise in addition to the merits of each.
I was told that Natwest shall act for England (South) and that RBS shall represent Scotland (North). I asked where the divide is likely to be and was told the Scottish boarder area.
So whilst this response does not provide a direct response I thought you might find it of interest.0 -

Hi all,
Will I get the 2% cashback if I pay for the deposit of my flat and 1st months rent? I will be paying via chip and pin device.
Many thanks,

I would imagine it would work, however it will depend on whether the transaction falls under one of the cashback exclusions:This offer does not apply to: (a) ATM withdrawals; (b) point of sale cashback at a retailer; (c) money transfers; (d) gambling transactions; (e) electronic cash transfers; and (f) branch counter withdrawals.

Personally I would give it a try, you've nothing to loose.

What is an 'electronic cash transfer' anyway?0
