How do I check the size of my HDD?

Hi, my laptop is supposed to have a 500gb hard drive.

I have looked at 'my computer' details and can't see anything which is 500. There's 329 of 329gb free on the D and 80 of 116gb free on the C drive.

Am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanks

No. It will be one physical hard drive partitioned into two logical ones, C and D. . 329GB+116GB = 445GB which sounds right taking into account the differences in definitions of a Gigabyte and a possible hidden recovery partition.

If you go to Control Panel, Administration Tools, Computer Management, Storage then you'll see the single drive and the two partitions.

Bet it's an Acer, they (used to) partition like that, a big D drive to store stuff, but many don't know how to use it. No offence to OP.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Mentions of 'My Computer' and a 'C:' and 'D:' drive... and you assume it's Linux? :o

No. That will be the recovery partition to re-install the OS if it all goes wrong.
