Bank Holiday Pay

They can, however, decide that they will pay a different amount for that day's holiday it is buying - which is what this employer is doing.
Agree having thought about it they are buying back holidayat 60% rate.
Bet the shift woirkers do have this on their holidays discount.
And for part timer they would be not be able to do this if they worked too many bank holidays they would have to give 100% pay TOIL.
I think HR/Payroll are expecting a TOIL.
60% is typical for the NHS for Sun/BH, if this the larger public employer if it is then you get TOIL.
Check the handbooks what is supposed to happen will be in their somewhere.
Every company I have worked for either paid up(not always enhanced) or gave TOIL.0 -
From what everyone else has said it seems like HR are right but if you're still not convinced (and even if you are) you should check your contract and the company handbook as it will have details somewhere which state how bank holidays are treated.
As someone works the BH each time have you spoken to the rest of the people on your team to see what they have been paid when they've worked a BH?0 -
And as both I and gm4l said, OP, you need to check if you get an additional day off. If you do, then you have nothing to complain about at all!
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0
