Nokia 3330 - doesn't ring ???

Help - my phone doesn't ring when receiving calls (on Virgin payg) - I just get a message to say that I've missed a call. It makes calls fine, all the settings seem to be ok - set to loud, vibrate, ring ring and no active diverts. Is this a settings problem, or is there a genuine fault?
Would appreciate any advice on this one.
Thanks
Beckipeg :)

My hubbys nokia developed a fault similar to what you have, the phone would vibrate but not ring and buzzed instead of the nokia beep beep and it was the speaker had gone, his was replaced as it was a work phone so no idea of cost involved, but like you we went through all the setting too.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

well known problem - usually caused by liquid damage breaking one of the tracks
i used to get loads of these to repair
here is the solution if you want to try yourself (and youve got a steady hand and thin tipped soldering iron)

From my (limited amatuer) experience, simply try dismantling the phone & 'improving the contacts' (by that I mean the contact between the ringer & the motherboard - saying that I can't remember if the ringers ever connected that way - I know a few years ago some screens, speakers, connector blocks, mics, etc. did).
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!

Is it that your ringtones are corrupt, have you tried turning the phone off then back on, seems a common problem with nokia

Took until today to sort this - some fault at the sim provider end. Bought new phone and fault continued. Provider reset sim somehow and now it rings! Did offer to replace sim but looks like it's ok. Still no idea what was actually wrong - should've rung provider first, but had assumed the phone was at fault.

    Thanks for all replies.
