Want to Make a Subway Meatball Sandwich!

I was out the other day, and had consumed a few drinks.. Anyway I had one of these and ever since, I've had a cravig for another one! They are delicious (or at least they were at 2am on a Friday night..)
I don't really want to pay Subway though, as it must be cheaper to make one yourself.
I've seen Tesco Value Meatballs are 40p and Campbell Meatballs are 54p for a tin. I'd imaigne the bread would be 40p for a sub sized loaf. Mozarella cheese is 59p. I think the only other ingredient is marinara sauce, but I cant see it on the Tescos website! Does anyone know if this is sold anywhere else? And are there any other 'hidden' ingredients in a Subway Meatball Sub?

FWIW I used to eat a lot of Campbells Meatballs when I was an impoverished student many years ago. The memory still haunts me - I'm sure dog food must be more nutritious!Stompa0

I ate tons and tons when I was on a slimming world diet. They counted as free food. I lost two stone and I still love themStompa wrote:FWIW I used to eat a lot of Campbells Meatballs when I was an impoverished student many years ago. Hello piggeh
The food experts in the 'Old Style' board will have some recipe tips for you, so I'll move your thread across.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

I find it hard to believe anybody actually eats them voluntarily! I've always though they must be a classic example of where 'mechanically recovered meat' ends up:

I would think Sausages are just as likely, but still, meatballs could contain it as well, though I think the threat of BSE has subsided somewhat.
Still doesnt solve where to get Marinara sauce from though

Although Wikipedia states that marinara sauce is a basic tomato sauce.
What's happened to Subway anyway? the first time i had one was about 7 years ago in Blackpool and they used to cut a hole in the top of the bread, put the filling in and then put the bread they cut out back on top. Now it's just a case of slicing it.0
