You may be paying 20% more than anywhere else BUT the extra quality is worth more than 20%! If I buy a ready meal fromTesco or Sainsbury's my DH knows it isn't from M&S and even my DD can tell too. The other day I bought a tuna mayo deli filler at Sainsbury's and today she said to me "that tuna wasn't from Marks's was it mum?" "don't buy it again it was disgusting". So as the old adage goes "You get what you pay for"DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.

Hi Mel, my mum worked for them for years and we used to get discount too. It was amazing but now she has to be in attendance if we're purchasing anything. Not very practical since she lives about 60 miles away
My fav M&S products are...
percy pigs
their seafood platter £17
their frozen rostis
their sandwiches
bags of salmon and chicken (amazing buy and the best of stuff)
honey roast ham crisps
GAWD EVERYTHING REALLY!!!!!

Ah Marks and Spencers food .... how does the advert go " It's not just food, it's..........."try,..... processed in a factory, pumped full of additives, preservatives, flavourings and colours and prettily packaged to make consumers think they are getting something special.
Make your own nicer than any of the prepackaged stuff, imho.

I disagree... I think when you buy from M&S you're buying top quality food. If you look at their labels most of them display organic, additive free, preservative free, no artificial colours etc...
Why are they so successful then?

Have to agree LittleL!
However, I am biased - I have worked for them for the last 21 years and we have been spoiled by buying most of our food there.DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.

Yeah we were well fed by M&S for years since my Mum worked for them. She used to get the "waist" and come home with 4 for the price of 1 etc.. IMHO they are a company who can do no wrong.
Their underwear is second to none but their food I could die for...

LittleL you did make me smile!!
It's "waste" not "waist"! But by buying all that lovely food at half and quarter price does pile onto your waist!DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.
