There will be a record of the transaction and the type of transaction will be available to the bank.

Any particular reason for your question?

Note that the time of the payment may not correspond exactly with the time of the phone call depending on the retailer's processes.

    yes thanks

A bailiff took information over the phone lcd telly , red fabric sofa to levy goods the debtor also made a payment of £100 at the same time later that day the bailiff turned up at the door to get the levy signed there is no time on the levy (the debtor signed it)

now this bailiff was either getting certificated or renewing his certificate as is certificate started the same day as the levy

and i wondered if the bank would be able to confirm time of payment and if the card holder was present at time of payment

The bank can only confirm the time of processing which may not be the actual time the payment was taken. Times are usually accurate if the transactions are PIN verified but if CNP, they can be processed days afterwards.

No, they know it because the banks processing systems show that the card wasn't present rather than PIN verification or a swiped transaction, both of which show the card was present.
