A few days upwards. Depends on your relationship with the bank in question! I went into my local branch of the bank I have personally banked with for decades plus already have one business account/company with - they were able to turn me around in 20 mins, but the finalisation of the account, cards, cheque book etc took a few days.

In DH's case, weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and frustrating weeks to open a new account for a separate project within the charity he works for. Including regular visits to the branch he already banked at, taking his ID each time, waiting to be seen each time, and requests for other signatories to also visit multiple times. Since these signatories are all volunteers, that got difficult!
