My house smells awful!!!

I moved into a housing association property in August, since I moved in the mold downstairs is awful, making the house smell really bad. There is mold in lounge, and it has covered the back of my sofa leaving that smelling too. Under my stairs is horrific!!!!! The downstairs hall smells, but I am managing to wipe away the black moldy stuff with bleach every few days. The kitchen walls are damp also. I had the housing people look at it and they just said to air the room, seriously its driving me mad. I had an electrician here today and he could smell it! Basically downstairs is covered in mold and stinks!!! is there anything I can do to get rid of it? Airing the house is not working, and I think they just said that as they didnt know what to do. Thanks

Give your local Enviromental Health Dept a ring get them to come out and access the risk to you and your family.

black mold is toxic, you should not be living there

I have told them this! nothing happens, I am going to call environmental health, thanks . ( I didnt think of them before the op mentioned it)
