New HP laptop - is it worth buying a care pack / extended warranty?

My friend has just bought an HP G72-b10SA 17" i3 laptop (https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/HP_G72-b10SA_1003506.html). It comes with a standard 12-month warranty. I never take extended warranties on most electronic products, but as laptops can be relatively unreliable maybe it is worth my friend considering one. I looked up HP care packs and there seem to be loads of these, and they seem a bit confusing. My questions are:
1) Is it worth buying an HP care pack? Are these value-for-money, is the cover comprehensive, is the service good etc?
2) Where is the cheapest place to get a care pack for the HP G72-b10SA? HP direct or elsewhere?
3) How much would a 3-year care pack for the HP G72-b10SA cost? By 3-year, I mean including the current 1-year cover, so an extra two years basically.
Any advice welcome!

Laptops will generally start to die after 3 years anyway unless there rarely used so i wouldnt say it was value for money. The 3 year cover itself should be cheapest from either HP or the likes of Misco etc who can package them as part of the laptop.
As for pricing i would think it would be around the £120 mark if not much less.0 -
I just did an online chat with Misco and they pointed me to this: https://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=434954&catcode=&sourceid=5115.
So, £71.99 for an extra 2 years pick up and return warranty. Is it worth it?0 -
I just checked the HP website: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF13a/321957-321957-3329744-3848802-3848802-4247533.html?lang=en&cc=uk&jumpid=in_r2515_uk/en/smb/psg/cpfinderadlp-ot-li-pu_Notebooks_hp530notebookpc_chev/carepacksfinder
£59.00 for the extra two years, plus I think I can get 6% Topcashback. Is it worth buying?0
