Advertising Car Boot sale

I am attempting to organise a car boot sale on behalf of our Village Hall. Not a huge affair, but if successful, we might make it into a regular event.
I'm going to advertise with posters in shops, the parish mag, free newspaper etc., but I wondered if you people know any popular website where I can advertise for free? The Village Hall doesn't have the funds for expensive adverts, and the affair might be a flop (or a washout) so I don't want to gamble money on adverts and make a loss!
Any other advertising ideas would be welcome. If it's relevant, I'm in Dorset.

if you hold it regular then you will need permission from local authority. you can hold up to a certain amount a year without permission but this various between authorities.0

You could try putting it on Netmums. You have to register but you can post your advert for free in your county's section, they now have a million members0

How about in the communities section of Gumtree.com that appears to be free. Also a poster in the side window of your and any other organisers cars. Don't forget one in the village hall itself. Your local paper might accept an article about the village hall and the aims of the bootfair if you write it and email it to the editor or news desk. See if your local radio station does a free advert for community groups.0
