  • We always used to use Finish 4 or 5 in 1 tabs - which if you can get the big packs on BOGOF are not too expensive.

But I have been buying from Lidl their Dishwasher 5 in 1 Tablets and they are really good - as good as Finish and alot cheaper. I don't have the price but they were about £3 for a big box full.

They are called 'ADRITT - Perfect 5'
Basically they are probably the equivalent of Finish 5 in 1 but the German brand!

I treid Aldi own brand ones recently, and very impressed - good results and mega-cheap!!!

I agree. Would recommend. They are the only ones I now buy and my dishwasher has seen better days.
  • I usually buy most household items in Tesco too, but dishwasher tablets are way too expensive. Try Lidl - they are about half the price and work just fine.

Define 'cheap'. What is your budget?

Personally, I bulk buy when ever finish 5 in one, finish quantum, or the new fairy ones are on offer...

This offer is still on - brings cost down to about 10p per tablet for 3in1 version. Look out for the Finish Quantum tabs with 50% extra free at half price - they brought our glasses up cleaner than ever before.

  • I find Tescos are fine, though I might buy branded ones if there's a good offer. Also only use half a tablet per wash, but they can be a bit tricky to break.

  • I recently had a whirlpool dishwasher engineer out to repair a fault and he told me NOT to use Finish dishwasher tablets as they are in fact damaging some machines in certain areas.

Apparently it all depends on how hard or soft your water is. He told me I live in a soft water area and not to use any salt at all in the dishwasher. Apparently Finish are half salt and this is what can leave glasses looking cloudy.

He told me to use half a tea spoon of any own brand dishwashing powder and surprisingly, he did tell me to use Finish rinse aid as he thought this was the best on the market.
