When will they ask for these CTC overpayments back?

Hopefully this is a simple query, but having read some of the HMRC info I can't seem to find the answer.

While waiting for our renewal form, we're receiving provisional CTC payments. Once we renew, our income for last year will mean that we won't be entitled to anything this year (as we'll be just over the new threshold) and these payments will stop. But last year's payments should be correct - no over or underpayments.

I have no problem with repaying the money, but am wondering when they will ask for it back. Will it be now, or will it be next tax year when we confirm this year's earnings? Thanks in advance!
