Your symptoms sound like COPD, have you been referred to a specialist nurse with regards to this? If not then your GP should be ashamed for not getting it done sooner. She can get you the best treatment and refer you on to a lung clinic who can help you with showing the best way to cope, she will show you how to take your medicines properly etc.
My Husband has this disease and before he was refered to the specialist he couldnt walk a few steps before he was gasping for breath, he couldnt shower or bath either as it near enough killed him. Now he has the help from the nurse he has returned to work, can go for a walk with his grandkids and lead an almost normal life, although he still gets out of breath and cannot manage with out various inhalers, it still changed his life. COPD doesnt get better but it can be managed successfully. As for DLA well he got turned down for it because the DLA doctor who examined him stated he could get treatment to help, which was in fact the truth, so maybe in a way, it was a godsend he got turned down and got the proper advice from the DLA doc.
I am not for one minute saying you have the condition OP, its just that your symptoms sound exactly the same as my husbands.0 -
Only just now noticed my predictive text mistake but I'm sure you figured it was supposed to say asthma."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0
