Best flea spray - Indorex or Acclaim?

We have a flea infestation at the moment from our cat, they seem to be mainly in the living room and bedrooms. My ankles are getting bitten a lot and my daughter has started to get a few bites. The cat has been banished to the kitchen (hard floor in there!) until we get rid of them.

I'm going to get some spot-on stuff for the cat and some spray for the house, I've been reading other threads on this and know that the shop-bought stuff doesn't work. Acclaim and Indorex seem to be the recommended sprays, but which is best? I will need to spray the mattresses on the beds and so need a spray that is ok for using on the bed that my daughter sleeps in (she hasn't got any allergies). Thanks!

We've used Acclaim for the past two years now (seems that come spring OH gets bitten rotten, doesn't bother me!). Anyway, it works well, just doesn't seem to last much past the year for whatever bites OH. You can get Acclaim from Boots BTW.

I've used Indorex which seems to be brillaint (also kills house dust mites which is a bonus). However, I didn't have an infestation as it was literally a couple of days before I treated the cats. What I can say is the fleas have never come back!

Indorex seems to be winning 2-1 at the moment then ;) Have you used it on mattresses and has it been ok?

The fleas have been pretty quiet tonight, maybe they've been blown away by all this wind ;)

I used Acclaim last year as I came back from holiday to find a flea infested house (my son hadnt deflead his cat). It worked well. Very well in fact. Son is Asthmatic so we banned him from the house for the night (we did the mattresses as the cat liked to lounge on the beds). within a fortnight the fleas were gone - before that we did see the odd flea but they seemed sort of disabled - you could actually catch them!
One Can did a three bedroomed house and I think it cost about £12.99 from Pets at Home. The assistant did say that the smoke bombs were even more effective (apparently it cleared his student digs) but as son was asthmatic we werent sure how long the effects would last - and assistant couldnt say.

I didnt use it on the mattresses as it says not to. However I did do the carpets under the bed. My dog does sleep on the bed but we never noticed the mattress crawling - I think most the fleas had hopped off downstairs. I did also do the undersides and the backs of the suites just in case

All the same - we had no sightings of fleas within the week

Choose a good day. Hoover and spray the whole house in the morning and get the windows open in the after noon to air it and you will be grand. Dont forget skirtings and hard floors - fleas can settle in the gaps

    And empty the hoover

I have used both Indorex and RIP fleas to good effect. You can buy Skoosh from pets at home or online and it is insecticide free so suitable for mattresses, pillows etc and YES it does work!
