Small leak underneath kitchen sink

I am not sure whether it is just coincidence. I had a shut off valve (the one where you use a screwdriver to turn water on and off)replaced by one with a handle to turn off the outside water tap in winter. This morning I have just noticed a small leak underneath kitchen sink. Hubby came to investigate and has made it worst. I do not think it is related as the plumber did not touch the kitchen sink. Hubby think it needs tighten up a bit but I do not trust him now. Any idea what could have caused the kitchen sink to leak suddenly before I blame it on the plumber. The job was done on friday and I only noticed it today as i was taking something out of the cupboard. Thanks

I suggest the first thing to do is to establish where the leak actually is. Dry everything off then test periodically for wetness around all joints.

As Consumerist said, dry it off...
including the waste, just in case.
Check for leaks using a piece of loo roll, a good one is one that goes darker when wet, or a piece of blue wipe IYKWIM.
