Capped price or variable - whats better in the long run ?

Sorry - another question from me.

Do you think that it is better to go for a capped price, although this may be slightly more initially (Approx. £45 per year), or a variable price, whic;) h may be cheaper (approx. £50) per year ?

No one (and I mean no one) knows.

I've read a lot of people on here say that prices are on their way down now, don't be so sure.

I'm genuinely hoping they are, but it's not guarenteed.

Most people think they are, hence why Powergen has recently reduced the price on their capped rate, but we'll see.

My own personal bet would be to stick with a standard tariff.

There have been hundreds of posts on this subject, including a thread currently running.

Historically it has been an advantage to take the fixed/capped tariffs on offer; but in the future????

As said above, nobody knows the answer; however my bet would be go for capped - but it is purely a hunch!
