Has anyone ... haggled with existing supplier to keep low costs?

Just a thought...

Has anyone haggled with their existing supplier to rather than swopped companies and has it worked ? My capped plan is about to finish so I wondered whether it was worth speaking to my existing supplier (Sainsbury) before swopping over.

The unit prices are as they are. They wont reduce the unit price or the standing fee (if there is one)

They won't haggle over the unit rates and come up with a special price just for you, but if you call them they may be able to advise you if there are any special offers on or other tariffs you may be eligable for.

If you are on a capped rate with Sainsbury's then you are effectively a ScottishPower customer .. you could try talking to them. Alternatively EDF has taken over from ScottishPower by providing the Sainsbury's Energy ... you could try talking to them

  • I have just asked N Power to switch my tarriff to save money (they came out cheapest using using ) but they said that Sign online 6 is only available to new customers. I said that I would therefore change suppliers and they still woudn't offer it.

    Any advice?

There's a few threads on it. Basically, if you want sol you'll have to switch to someone else (perhaps through a cashback site) then switch back in a couple of months.
