Hi everyone, welcome to the June 2011
    Bankruptcy Club.

This club is for everyone who has gone through the process of Bankruptcy during June 2011. So please feel free to join and post.

Pop your name on here, the date that you went Bankrupt and the stage that you are at now in your Bankruptcy. And then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your journey through Bankruptcy. That way we can all stick together and compare notes and we will be there to support each other throughout the different stages in our Bankruptcy.

Remember this is your board so keep posting.

Obviously anyone can come on here and post anything that will help us all and you are all welcome. Any important questions that do need answering are maybe still better posted on the main board but if you do put it on here, then maybe we can help each other.

Hopefully it will be an extra place for friendship and support as we compare notes and discuss what is happening with our Bankruptcies.

Please leave a post when you have been declared BR, and I will update the list.

*PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE TOO MUCH INFO, THE IS ARE KNOWN TO FREQUENT THIS SITE AND TOO MUCH INFO MAY MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY INDIVIDUAL CASES, SO KEEP INFO TO A MINIMUM, ie USERNAME AND DATE ONLY."

  • Hi all
    just a quick update
cashminder account open and operating, what a relief!
Had phone interview with OR and so far do good, Agreed to exempt car for work but did say they were obliged to tell my landlord, which is a bit disappointing as it is a new tenancy and a private landlord and I am worried he might decide not to continue after our initial 6 month period, I just could not face moving again :(
Id there any way you can convince the OR not to do this?
Told work and they were fine. Had to do this as apparently I get a nil tax banding but i must pay what I say direct to the OR's collection agency Moon Beever
Feeling calmer about it all now :)

Try not to worry about telling your LL, I actually told mine before going BR in case the OR informed them. He was totally fine about it, as long as the rent was paid and the house looked after he was not bothered at all. Some OR` s inform the LL others don`t. There is no harm asking him not to contact them, ask if supplying the tenancy agreement and rent book/payment proof would suffice?

  • Thanks dojoman I will try not to get anxious about the LL but its hard not to feel humiliation when you know others have the potential to make life even more difficult because of this info.
Whats is even more worrying however, is that the tax man is now threatening to make other half bankrupt because of £8500 unpaid tax that we have been struggling to pay . This is the main reason I decided to go bankrupt so I could free up some cash to pay the tax but they say we are not offering enough, (have offered 350.00 per month) and that unless we up the offer or pay in full they will make him bankrupt. The thing is he has been bankrupt before , 4 years ago and i am worried they will put more severe penalties on him, like making it 3 years or something. it seems crazy to me that they will not entertain the offer as we have no assets of any kind . Dont know what to do . we have consulted the various advisory bodies like cccs and the tax advisory service but no one seems to know what to suggest apart from just keep paying them what you can, But I cant help thinking whats the point in that if they are going to make him bankrupt anyway :)
Its just one thing after another at the moment! Any advice welcome or shared experience.
