Aqua credit card

I used to have an Aqua card and after reading the info on PPI claims I decided to contact them. I phoned and asked if I had been paying PPI then asked when I opened the account. I then sent a letter and a completed copy of the ombudsman questionnaire. I then received a letter from Bank of Scotland saying that they could not find the account so could I send a previous address or my loan agreement (which I no longer have on account of it being an old account). I phoned them and supplied them with my previous address (although the account was active in my current address) and stated that when I phoned them less then two weeks before hand they had been able to give me information on the account. I was then asked to provide proof of the account number because they were still unable to find it. I only have my closure of account letter which I have now posted a copy of, which states my account number as the reference number. I also decided to try phoning Aqua again to check if they had my account details and they were unable to locate them. I find it suspicious that once I tried to make a claim my details have disappeared from their records.

Has anyone else had this problem? What would be my next move if they still claim to be unable to locate the account?

I would be grateful of any advice, thank you!

    Hi,
I had an Aqua card which I paid off in 2009, I know I had PPI on it because when I realized I cancelled it. I quoted the account number etc but they said they had no trace of it which I think is ridiculous consider it was only 2 years since I settled it. In view of what you said I'm going to give them another call and put the pressure on.

    Hi farcove54,

I hope we both get somewhere with Aqua.

I was told the last time I phoned that records are deleted after 2 years. I don't see how this can be true when you can claim PPI for accounts active in the last 6 years.

Please let me know how you get on and I will do the same.
