Hi,
I want to listen to Radio 4 via earphones whilst at work. I recently tried a AIGO DAB Radio Model number: SAFMOO1A that cost £30ish but i found 2 problems.
1, being as i only wear 1 earphone i found it too quiet(i did adjust the volume)
2, Dab is no good for me as everytime i used my welder it interfered with the reception.

Please can anyone recommend any small pocket radios? Digital tuning with the ability to lock stations would be ideal as i move about a lot.

If your welder interferes with radio reception frequencies, it interferes on all models of radio.

In that case a device that allows playback of podcasts / recorded radio might be more suited.

Thank you for the answers. Much appreciated!
Ok, what i should have explained is that there was only interference when it was on DAB, not when it was on FM (if that makes sense?)

A device that plays podcasts would be suitable, i guess that is an mp3 player?
Are there any mp3 players that also have radio?

When you first used the radio, did you have to enter the country or region where you were living? (this is fairly common with MP3 players, but I'm not sure about radios).

The reason I ask is that under EU reg's, there must be a volume limiter on the player and this often sets the maximum volume lower than it should be. (another instance of the EU nanny state).

If this is the case, see if you can reset the player/radio to factory settings, then choose North America as the region. This should remove the volume limiter.

I recently purchased n MP3 player (Sansa clip) which was also very quiet, and after a bit of googling, I found this info which improved it no end.

    Hi,
Thanks for that, that is very useful to know. However, i didn't have that option but i will look into it!
Mind you, it is only a radio, not an mp3 player.
May i ask what make+model yours was?

Ps- i think part of the problem is that it is a cheapy one-£30ish!
