brick recycling

Hi,

I am demolishing my backgarden wall, and end up with those bricks. They are quite good and usable.
Just wondering if there is anywhere they can be recycled rather than going into scrapyard.
Any ideas?

Cheers

If they're old Victorian handmade bricks, they're very desirable and would cost up to a £1 each from a reclamation yard. Ring your nearest one and see if they'd buy them off you. If newer than that, try freecycle or offer them as buyer collects on eBay - they'll be useful to someone I'm sure. We kept our old bricks when we extended our cottage last year and they made a gorgeous new wall and logstore with some original clay tiles.

    Mayflower10cat,

How to tell the age of bricks. Just roughly some guidance? I'm no expert, but think these are "old" bricks. Which trade from the yellow page can have a look?

    Tnx
