Scottish power Fiasco
We moved into our new home on 24th April.
My previous address was supplied by Scottish Power
I took meter readings and entered them online.
My online bill at that time showed us £400 and odd in credit.
I hadn't had a final bill or anything so i called week before last.
I was told they had no record of my merter readings....grrrrr.....however i have written them down in my diary and apparently we were owed the grand total of £36 - hmmmmm
On friday i got 2 bills - one for gas and electricity from Scottish Power thanking me for setting up direct debits and that they would be taking money from my account in June for a new supply at my old address from 24th April!
I rang again - after being on hold for THIRTY MINUTES trying to get through a girl answered. She told me that we owed them just over a pound!
I stressed we did NOT lvie at that address anymore, had given them meter readings twice and failed to understand how we could be over £400 in credit yet end up owing them! The meter readings on these bills were estimated.
She said that she could not change the meter readings as the account was closed (Im REALLY confused now - how can they set up a new account yet its closed?) so would have to send it to the "back office" to be looked at, and we "should" get a final bill. We've been told this twice already!
Im FURIOUS. I did everything i was supposed to do - our new supplier at our new home is a different company as the gas meter was absent when we moved in so had to go with them to get that sorted - and besides, our new house has a prepayment electricity meter in which we do not want and SP told us it could take a YEAR for them to change it! New supplier are coming next week to swap it over.
Ive got a feeling this is going to be a nightmare now. Ive still got my meter readings, but i could do with some advice.
