the saddest thing is that I along with many people used to like West Ham - once those 2 took over, I was happy to see them go down.

Wonder how many Liverpool fans regret that David Moores didn't allow Steve Morgan to buy into Liverpool in 2004

I think a LOT of people went off West Ham once gold & sullivan took over. They're an odious couple. Brady sets them off nicely.

I have to say that popular consensus round here is that Steve Morgan is a godsend to our club. Liverpools loss is definitely our gain. I'm not 100% that he'd be as effective at Liverpool, as he's a Liverpool fan. With us he can be a little more objective I feel. This benefits us. The management team operate really well. Mr Morgan doesn't spout off in the press all the time. We do our business quietly and effectively. The club is run financially very well - definitely within our means. Importantly, the club behaves very ethically I feel.

After the fallout from Dave Jones, & the nightmare of that git oddle, Super Mick has come in, first under Sir Jack, who was looking to move the club on & took great care to ensure it went to a proper owner, not some front like Yeung at blooze. The city owes a massive debt to Sir jack in so many ways. He rescued our club following the dark days in the early 80's when we were literally 3 minutes away from bankruptcy, and had a stadium with only one and a half stands which were safe to use. The 3M's (Morgan, McCarthy & Moxey) have given the club back to the supporters. Since McCarthy came in, I have felt proper pride in my club, and to be honest, that has grown during his tenure. The ground redevelopment will only boost that I think.

I cannot understate how important it is to have genuinely good, honest, hardworking committed owners who run the club properly.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

That's great jelly, you can't put a value on it, it's truly priceless.

As you know I'm a crazy petrolheaded F1 fan. What is sad about F1 is that it has become very clinical. I'm glad that the drivers don't die on a regular basis now, but I do think some of the passion has gone. It is also regularly stated that those who own F1 don't care about the fans who go to the races, they care about the ones who watch it on TV and from whom they can gain big revenue. Football strikes me as much the same. For that matter, so does the NFL. Otherwise, why would the Bucs offer to play not one but two of its regular season games overseas? It's not exactly fair to those who pay for season tickets or go to races.

It is one of those priceless things Viva.:) It is built up of so much. We know now that we have players that care about the club. If they lose, it is never through lack of effort. In reality, the last 2 (3?) seasons have seen huge overacheivements/progress. Here is a great article that really sums it up:

It is amazing to hear something like that!:) Proof that the club is internally really good. There is a great togetherness. Belief and support running through the whole squad. Footballers do generally get a bad press, but I have nothing but pride for my team. Compared to some recent seasons where the football hasn't been great, & I've been content to listen on the radio, I now want to go. I am thinking about having a season ticket for the first time ever.

But the whole point about the club coming back to the fans/city is the key point. And it has meant everything to us fans.

That's fantastic - the only sad part is that success has become relative for almost everyone.

Success for Wolves will be staying up and getting to mid-table.
Success for Everton will be challenging for a Europa league place (and we to have vastly over-achieved for our relative income and spend on wages). If Moyes left we would be back to bottom half of the table.

I renewed my season ticket again (16th year) but it was the closest I've come to jibbing it. If my dad didn't go with me I would have packed it in. My son also has a 1/2 share in a ticket, but given the choice I'd rather he played sport at his age than watched it.

Millwall fans never forgot Ian Pratt. As it was 35 years since his death it might be time to let it go.

Then again, Man Utd fans that weren't alive in 1958 get outraged when fans of other teams who also weren't alive in 1958 start singing about the Munich Air Disaster so I can't see them letting it drop any time soon.

More saddened, especially when moronic City fans sing, even though they lost their greatest ever goalkeeper in the crash.

We get possibly the least tasteful chant from Chelski. 'One man went to gas...', a celebration of The Holocaust.

    Isn't Abramovich Jewish?

It really is time to kick racism out of football. This country has come a long way since John Barnes had bananas thrown at him and should carry on until such behaviour is gone. It just shows what mindless idiots some so called fans are. Record the crowd in HD and ban the ringleaders.

The same has happened with Chester City, the fans now feel part of the club (even though they are now way out of the football league), they regularly take over 1000 fans to away matches.

Or when I went to Spurs v Villa in October and the away fans were singing about having foreskins. Plus one bloke shouting out some proper anti-semitic stuff (I can't repeat it here). He didn't get thrown out.

Still, we beat them so that kept them quiet later on :D

A couple of my Dad's mates who've been going for 35+ years have sacked their season tickets off over the last couple of years.
Had enough of it. Where's the fun when you know:

    a) The fan's money isnt being invested in new players or a new stadium/Goodison redevelopment.
    b) You can predict the top 6 and bottom 6 in precise order every single year.
