Hi, in todays economic bad times footballers are being paid ever increasing sums, football tickets are going through the roof yet the people are poorer. Why such interest in football and does it benefit our economy?
Can prices keep going up and can we keep our interest? Its like today Ryan Giggs is the most googled player in the world this week, far higher than the foreign star players.

Allegedly.
Still, hypothetically speaking having lots of money could give you access to legal remedies to keep your extra-marital affairs secret that the rest of us could not afford - shouldn't everyone be equal under the law?
On an unrelated matter, if you google Andrew Marr (he of the super-injunction) you can find the full story posted in 'comments' on other stories dated back to 2009 and before - surely if something is so not a secret that it can be found with 30 seconds on google imposing a super injunction is a bit pointless?I think....0 -
Who is he? what is he famous for?0

Its interesting that Man Utd have players like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs in their late 30's still playing. Giggsy must be on big bucks for almost two decades now, what would he do with all that money?:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

I have to say he is a footballer who you have to respect his loyalty. How long has heen married to Man Utd and never once thought of leaving for another club, that is utter devotion. The likes of Ronaldo would abandoned his club at the scent of currency note, he lies and cheats on the pitch and could even cheat on his girlfriend. However he is not like Giggsy, a true gent.
Does the economy benefit from this football though, I know the newspapers do, even scottish papers are interested in the english game, front page stories and all. I think the article was the relegation battle of Birmingham.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Well I've heard that he's not buying any houses as he's heard it on good authority that they'll be 50% cheaper by Christmas.0 -

As a total ignoramus on football, if Ryan Giggs has been 'googled' a lot, then surely this is good for British Football.
Let's be proud that this great island of UK reveres its good sportsmen. Upright citizens for whom not a bad word has ever been printed in the press. Surely this must stand for something. He and his wife should be proud of the compete lack of scandal.0 -
Oh he's Welsh is he, I always Imagine Thomas
the tank engine and valleys full of sheep when
people mention wales.
How's the economy in Wales right now?0
