Amazon - help needed

I have e-mailed amazon 6x - each time they don't answer the question or answer something else entirely random. Each time i tell them they haven't answered the question, attach the original e-mail and reword the query in the hope of making it clearer.
today i called them, the guy couldn't speak english and was adamant i was calling about a credit card, although i never mentioned one and told him repeatedly my query was NOT about a credit card:mad:  . when i asked to speak to someone else he said he'd e-mail me the details, he didn't.
I'm hoping someone here can give me direct contact details for anyone at amazon who understands english and can answer a question, or even i someone here can answer the query themselves.
Query is,
the main query - Amazon have allocated me (in sums of £5 & £10) credit as appologies for various mistakes. I've spend some and have £30+ left. I can only use one 'discount' per order so - where on screen can i see the balance, and the amounts it's made up from (so i know what one to apply to an order). It is not under gift certificate balance.
2nd - how do i select what discount to apply to an order, amazon are doing it automatically and just now will only apply a 24p discount (presumably leftover from another discount as i've never had a 24p credit!). I would rather allocate a £5 or £10 voucher if i can't use the full £30+
3rd - has anyone noticed yesterday & today an error message when checking out - it says amazon are having problems and won't let you complete an order, i've not been able to get a response to when this will be fixed or if there's anyway around it.
sorry for the huge e-mail but i am at the end of my tether.

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Have you tried ringing them? You tend to get standard responses by email, but they have always been good when I've rang them.
I placed an order this morning, but no error message. Maybe it is happening when it is particularly busy?Gone ... or have I?0 -
phone them
0800 2796620
much easier0 -
get them to phone you .theirs a button somewhere and you write your number in and they phone you within 5mins.they were very helpfull with me

thanks for the idea of calling them, but i called them this morning, the guy couldn't speak english etc etc...all in my original post.
i'm really looking for a direct contact (not call center) to someone who speaks english and will answer the question.
the guy this morning actually said 'his sytem did not educate him in my query' so no real surprised he hasn't e-mailed me as promisedDon’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.

right about now i guess youre feeling like no ones listening to you
I have had some given by amazon before and was able to use several at once, the way the guy told me to use them was from the payment screen, toward the bottom if i can remember it was a little check box that said something like apply voucher to this sale.
Sorry to be a bit vague but this was months ago and when ive gone to the same screen now it isnt there, presumeably because i dont have a balance ??
Perhaps if you try to clear your basket, cookies etc and process the sale again it will apply a different amount ???

you phoned them once right? Try again and if you get the same bloke ask to speak to someone else - you can do that you know! The times I have phoned (several as it IS far easier than their poxy email system) I've only had problems once which were solved after I asked to be transfered to someone else. They do have more than one person working for them :rotfl:0

i did mention in my original e-mail i asked to speak to someone else - he said he would e-mail me the details, so i've already done what you sugest.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
