Uhm, surely you receive more than £130 per fortnight in benefits. Why can't you buy a bus pass if it only costs £60?0

Hi, thanks for all your kindly advices. I could not thank you all enough. Sorry I could not get back to the forum earlier as I don’t have internet handy. Please accept my sincere apologies for that.
I have some good news to share. I know you would be happy for me.
I contacted my supervisor and poured out my heart. I told her if I might, I would late for work on my first day so I could go into my flexible deal center first thing on Monday morning asking for help (they had hinted that I might get a weekly bus voucher to start work).
She was so kind and let me do that on my first day. The working hours could be flexible but normally staffs had to hand over their working sheet way in advance.
So I went into my flexible deal center early this morning and kindly asked for help for the bus. I finally got it and rushed to work.
More good news, my supervisor is so kindly…she had talked to other seniors (they are a family firm) about my situation and they like to help me out. They offer me bus fare for the other 3 weeks until I get my first salary. Something like I show up to work with my daily bus ticket, they would lent me that sum money the next day. They then would deduce the total amount from my first salary.
I am over the moon for such good news. At first I felt awful/ashamed to pour out my problem to others. I couldn’t believe everyone (here at the forum) and my workmates are so kind.
I thank all of you for so supportive, and ‘kelpie35’ – you are my hero, without your support, I would not clear my head properly and then hold my pride and not thinking reaching out to my supervisor.
Things could not be better for me at this moment. Thanks you all.0 -

Hi, thanks for your kind message.
The thing is that I am already cash tight. The benefit money would stop right there while I start working. There would be no money in until my pay date one month later. And there would be bills needed to pay etc during that period.0 -
get a bicycle off freecycle or freegal. Save your busfare and get fit.0

I appologise for being cynical in my initial post. I read so many threads where people seem to put up obstacles when it comes to getting to work that you do begin to wonder who's telling the truth and who isn't!
Good Luck!0
