VW Camper Insurance?

Hi,

I have just purchased a VW camper and was wondering if anybody had any tips on where the cheapest / best place to insure it would be.

Thanks in advance

    Caravan club?
If its an old one a classic specialist such as Lancaster, Adrian Flux, Footman James...
I suggest you look on one of the many forums that specialise on this type of vehicle.

try VW clubs online they probably have hints and tips. my mate belongs to one here in northern ireland - www.nboc.org.uk, it might have something on there.

  • Hi we have a 1981 VW camper and found Adrian Flux insurance was the most competitive, we couldn't use the caravan club as our vehicle was too old! Hope this helps...
    100% MFW :j
  • I use Footman James - http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/

It costs me £182 for fully comp. No agreed value but I get UK and European breakdown cover (not sure how good this would be though, never had to use it), unlimited mileage and it covers me to drive any car (with permission of course).

I've also had very good quotes from Firebond in the past so might be worth trying them both - http://www.firebond.co.uk/default.aspx

FJ are pretty good and so is the recovery service they offer..., just make sure you haggle around renewal time as you can normally knock a sizable chunk off the inflated quote they give you.
Im currently with Lancaster (for a Triumph Herald) who beat the quote of FJ this year. No problems with them either.

Lancaster have an online "quick quote" service that will give you a reasonable idea hopefully, though often tailored quotes are cheaper than these.
